The MedTech
Adoption Architecture™

Regulatory clearance grants permission to enter the market. It does not, by itself, establish payer coverage, procurement approval, workflow integration, stakeholder confidence, or sustained utilization. For many MedTech companies, clearance is treated as the commercial finish line. In practice, it is the starting line.

A product can be clinically promising, technically sound, and legally marketable yet still fail to become part of routine care. Post-clearance challenges that appear to be sales problems often originate in the underlying adoption architecture. The conditions required for sustained adoption were never deliberately designed, aligned, or put into operation.

The Framework

Our framework evaluates readiness across three interdependent layers to help founders, investors, boards, and commercial teams see where the adoption system is underbuilt before those gaps become expensive.

Do evidence, workflow, behavior-change, and training conditions support routine clinical use?
Behavior Change Requirements Clinical Adoption & Training
What needs to be designed to create market access, stakeholder alignment, account progression, and field execution support repeatable adoption?
Distribution & Access Stakeholder Mapping Reorder & Retention Resistance & Power Dynamics
What reimbursement, payment pathways, and economic value support the adoption decision?
Reimbursement Pathway Financing & Payment Economic Impact

The Score

The /45 Adoption Readiness Score is a proprietary rating developed by Muller Advisory Company to evaluate a MedTech company’s commercialization readiness.

It is not a grade. It is a commercial risk map that shows where adoption risk is concentrated and which areas to prioritize, whether a product is preparing to enter the market or is already in it.

THE DIAGNOSTIC OUTPUT

The MedTech Adoption Readiness Diagnostic is most valuable at critical inflection points: approaching launch, moving from clearance to scale, addressing stalled adoption, or evaluating commercialization risk during due diligence. The diagnostic produces a board- and investor-ready readout supported by the /45 Adoption Readiness™ Score, a commercial risk map, and prioritized recommendations. It can stand alone as a leadership decision tool or become the foundation for a strategy engagement and ongoing fractional commercial leadership.

Actionable Output

The MedTech Adoption Readiness Diagnostic produces a working decision document, not a presentation that sits on a shelf. It guides the next 90 days with prioritized recommendations, clear ownership, defined milestones, and progress measures.
